Captain Jeremy Bacor is a man of faith, US Army veteran, and has served the citizens of Pueblo for over 20-years.  Captain Bacor began his career as a Detention Deputy in 2002 and has distinguished himself while performing various roles for this office over his career such as Patrol Deputy, Detective, Federal Bureau of Investigations Joint Terrorism Taskforce (FBI/JTTF) Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Narcotics Sergeant, Inspector of Professional Standards & Internal Affairs, Detention Lieutenant, and Investigations Lieutenant. He has led the Sheriff’s Explorer Program (Post #157), the Sheriff’s Honor Guard, and currently leads the Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT).

While assigned to Investigations, Lieutenant Bacor led the effort to modernize the High-Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) computer forensics lab and expand the Sheriff’s office participation with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Colorado taskforce. Captain Bacor continues to work raising awareness for child sextortion online.

In December 2022, Captain Bacor was promoted to the rank of Captain and transferred to the Dennis Maes Judicial Building to oversee security and the intake facility.


Captain Bacor has participated with Habitat for Humanity, pet rescue, Catholic Charities Marian House, and NORAD Track Santa.

Education & Training

Captain Bacor is a graduate of Pueblo Community College (PCC), receiving an Associated of Science (AS) degree in Criminal Justice. He continued his education by completing a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Cybercrime & Security from Colorado Technical University (CTU), Magna Cum Laude. He also maintains his Police Officer Standards & Training (POST) certification.
